We think we’re implementing optimal solutions but we are missing one key data point, life review data

After WWII we had a baby boom, but boomers did not replace themselves

Without the 4:1 ratio, social security payments have to go down

This was massively successful. Foreign-born population increased from 4% to 13%

In 1970, 1 in 25 was a new American. Now it is 1 in 8

This helped, but we still cannot maintain the 4:1 worker to retiree ratio

Get more women working

Since 1970, the percentage of women with a bachelor’s degree has increased from 43% to 57%

America’s per capita gdp 2X Europe

United States is at $85K per capita while Europe is at $42K

Capitalism drives American public policy more than other countries because we don’t have a specific nationality to worry about

Countries like Germany have to worry about German birth rate, so they offer things like three years paid leave

America doesn’t have this problem because we can attract and integrate massive amounts of immigrants.

We don’t have pro-birth policies. Children are actually anti-capitalist because they distract the mother from being productive in the workplace and it takes up to twenty six years to rear and fully educate a child

America has done everything it can to maintain social security at the current level but the Baby Boom is so large that we cannot maintain the 4:1 worker to retiree level

The choices are, raise the retirement age or tax capitalism. Both of these options are unspeakable, but at some point the discussion will be required
